The last time Valtteri Bottas outqualified and beat Lewis Hamilton in the same weekend was Austria in July of 2020. Since then Hamilton and Mercedes went porpoising and Bottas was dumped to the Alfa Romeo curb which has become the Stake Sauber team.
If you had laid a parlay bet that Bottas would somehow take that rave-friendly neon green shite-box of a car and both outqualify Lewis in a Mercedes and beat him on track this weekend in Austin, well you’re probably be very rich by now, because that’s exactly what happened.
